Sweat Sweet Lodge

 SWEAT SWEET LODGE

Before we gather they do, even days before we do
preparing, singing, laughing
to be ready, because they know
we will come together to sweat our stories out to the grandmothers.
So they gather as a response and as a call to our intension.

As I gather the stones, our Grandmothers, a pristine river sings by my side,
permission is asked to the elemental beings all around.
I pick them, carry them, love them.
They know, they know we are starting a journey together
giving each other to one another.
They will bring us fire, we will melt as water becoming the singing river.

Permission is asked.
The call is made, we gather.
A bed of logs from a fallen tree will support the Grandmothers
in their absorbing of the fire, they will become the fire, still being themselves.
No many can say that !
Their wisdom of becoming will be the gift to us,
allowing us to remember that we too
can carry our fire without disappearing, or becoming ashes.
